This photo comes from Bike Snob NYC, a fantastic blog about bikes. It is a picture of the rear wheel of what is called a fixed-gear bicycle, or commonly "fixie." Fixies are the third-most prominent sighting in the gentrified areas of Northern Brooklyn, topped only by Animal Collective Listening Parties and The Shitty Moustache, respectively.
