A Traveling Barista's Four-Year Project to Make Great Coffee Across the Country

"Traveling Barista Escapes Narrowly from DC's Snowpocalyptic Grip" or "Bicycles and Icicles"

Problem number one:  My bicycle is in Washington, DC.

Megabus and Boltbus, despite being cheap and reliable, will not take a bicycle as luggage.  Until recently, I thought the only way to get a bicycle from DC to NYC was via Amtrak, which falls somewhere between $70 and $120 - not in the budget.

This is a radar depiction of DC snowpocalypse 2010. Based on panic levels, it is possible that this is not a snowstorm but rather a cloud of toxic green gas. HOPE ALL THAT MILK AND BREAD YOU BOUGHT WILL PROTECT YOU!

With my unlimited-ride metrocard set to expire today, I want my transportation freedom back... even if it is just in time for a NYC snowfall.  Of course, it should also be noted that biking is good for you and the environment, and is totally free!  My friend and coworker Travis turned me on to Vamoose Bus, which is a little pricier but allows bicycle checks, so a plan was forming.

Problem number two:  Washington, DC is about to be under 20 - 28 inches of snow.

They're calling it the Second DC Snowpocalypse, and everyone is in a panic.  And, when everyone around you is in a panic, there's only one thing you can do: grab your bicycle and get the fuck out of DC.

See ya soon, homely Bushwick!
